Curtains is a response to the pressure to conform, to look, sound, and act a certain way just to be accepted. In a culture obsessed with perfection, where authenticity is often filtered, commodified, or mocked, this project pushes back. Through a blend of country, punk, and Midwest emo, it's what I call Midwest corn pop. Curtains challenge the idea that there’s one right way to be. It’s loud, emotional, and sometimes messy on purpose. These songs were written to make space for softness, rage, and self-expression in all forms. Curtains is for anyone who’s ever felt like they had to shrink themselves to fit in. It’s a reminder that self-worth isn’t something others get to decide. This project asks: what would it look like to live as your most honest self, even when the world tells you not to?
