Sleepers

Ěý

Sleepers is a video art piece that weaves a meditative tapestry of visuals, sound, and animation. It features a rich collage of imagery—birds, tree branches, butterflies, and other fleeting moments of the natural world. These visuals, drawn from personal archives and recent footage shot on an old Sony Handycam and an iPhone, highlight the subtle beauty often overlooked in everyday life. Each clip was selected to emphasize small, quiet details in nature—those “sleepers” we tend to pass by without noticing.

Layered with animated drawings created in Procreate, the piece adds a whimsical and playful dimension to the organic visuals. These hand-drawn elements enhance the dreamlike quality and lend the piece a sense of lightness and curiosity.

The audio, composed by Cooper Sampson, complements the visuals with a calm, ambient soundscape designed to immerse the viewer in a peaceful, almost meditative state. The visuals and sound create a flowing rhythm that invites the viewer to slow down and rediscover the quiet wonder in the natural world.
