I’m a media maker and storyteller exploring the intersection between skateboarding, identity, and growing up. My work focuses on capturing honest, personal narratives that reflect the rawness of real life—often through the lens of youth culture and motion. This documentary is inspired by Minding the Gap and follows the emotional and physical landscapes of skaters navigating life, pain, and healing. Through interviews, street footage, and voiceover, I aim to give voice to the stories that often go unspoken, highlighting skateboarding not just as a sport, but as a form of survival, expression, and connection.

Somewhere to Land

This short documentary draws inspiration from Minding the Gap, exploring the emotional and personal realities behind skateboarding. Through a mix of candid interviews, raw street footage, and reflective voiceovers, the film captures how skateboarding becomes more than just a hobby—it’s a way of coping, expressing, and finding community. Set against the backdrop of everyday urban spaces, the documentary follows a group of young skaters as they open up about identity, mental health, and growing up in environments that often fail to understand them. It’s not about perfect tricks or polished edits—it’s about the space skateboarding creates for connection, freedom, and healing. By weaving together stories of movement and stillness, falling and getting back up, this film offers an honest glimpse into the lives of skaters who are still learning, still growing, and still rolling through it all.
